Introducing: 360.cgartist.com

360.cgartist.com is a new studio branch focused entirely on virtual tours. I have recently done a new batch of virtual tours projects for hospitality and event businesses and I am very excited about the growth of the sector.
360 tours based on panorama photography have been around for years, but only since the pandemic have they really gone mainstream and more widely used.
The reasons: First of all, the pandemic made virtual events a necessity for safety reasons. Secondly, the quality of the technology has improved considerably since its introduction decades ago, allowing for higher resolution with richer media integration and supported by widely available fast internet. And, last but not least, the fact that 360 content can be viewed on all devices, from mobile phones, tablets, PCs to the latest generation of XR headsets, makes them the most accessible immersive platform today.
Browser-based XR content can be seen as the killer app for the new generation of spatial computing devices, such as the Apple Vision Pro (the Safari browser on the Vision Pro supports WebXR), because it caters to couch-potato XR users in search of immersive cinematic content with embedded audio, video and hotspot layers.

As the technology matures, it is also a great option for engaging audiences with CGI environments and interactive 3D content, for digital twins or virtual creations that don’t exist in the real world, such as virtual trade shows and online exhibitions. Stay tuned for more to come…
